About us

The Climate Response team sits within Planning & Environment and works across the whole range of climate mitigation and adaptation activity. We are a team of 3, focussed upon delivering the Council’s Climate Change & Air Quality Strategy. We offer a collaborative, supportive culture in which everyone is given the opportunity to develop, take ownership of their area of work and make a tangible difference to the residents we serve.

Daniella Gray, Principal Climate Change Officer, said “Working in the Climate Response Team at Buckinghamshire Council is a rewarding job. I get to work with great colleagues every day and I know that my actions are making a difference to the residents in Buckinghamshire both today and in the future. The woodlands that we are planting will be available for generations to come.”

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

3. Coordinating logistics for tree planting and maintenance.
4. Providing expert advice and promoting tree planting initiatives.
5. Supporting grant applications and funding bids.
6. Maintaining a tree inventory for trees planted under the Bucks Tree Mission

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

7. Passionate about the environment and committed to making a difference.
8. A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
9. Experienced in project management and stakeholder engagement.
10. Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
11. Skilled in using Microsoft Office (GIS knowledge is a bonus).
12. Educated to NVQ Level 4/degree standard in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).

A full UK driving licence is essential, as you’ll be visiting sites across the county.
