Directed hours: Mondays 8:30 – 5:30; Tuesdays to Fridays 8:30 – 4:00

About the School
We are looking for a positive, flexible, compassionate person to join our friendly team at this independent special school for 18 pupils, which opened in September 2019. This role offers opportunities for applicants who can provide professional SEND teaching and therapeutic support to small groups of vulnerable pupils and wish to continually develop their own skills, knowledge and experience in SEND.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a tailor-made academic curriculum for small groups of 5-6 pupils, and lead on one subject area with support from the class teacher and Curriculum Lead.
* Deliver our therapeutic curriculum, supporting children with low-level dysregulation and mental health needs.
* Plan lessons at the school and coordinate activities around the local area, using specialist support teams for extra‑cultural activities.
* Transport and accompany children to local activities as part of the staff team. Own a car full time and hold a full driving licence.
* Engage with pupils aged 6‑17 years, main cohort usually 10‑17, providing individualized support.
Qualifications & Experience
* Substantial recent school-based experience supporting and teaching pupils with SEND using an evidence-based, therapeutic approach.
* Qualification at Grade 4 / C in GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (essential requirement).
* Experience as a Learning Support Assistant aspiring to progress to Higher Level Teaching Assistant is welcomed.
* Full financial support and training will be provided throughout the duration of the course.
