Financial Accountant - 6 months FTC
Location: Birkenhead (Hybrid)
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our finance function on a six-month fixed-term basis. The role will support the accurate processing, control, and reporting of financial information across several operational entities, working in close collaboration with a central reporting team to ensure regulatory and group reporting obligations are met.
The finance function is currently evolving towards a more standardised, automated, and technology-enabled operating model. This position will play an active role in supporting that change, helping to improve existing processes and embedding new ways of working.

What You'll Be Doing
Manage and deliver month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal processing
Prepare, review, and validate detailed financial data files from third parties and internal sources
Produce supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audit purposes
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and standardisation
Work closely with a central accounting and reporting team to ensure consistency of outputs
Support finance-led change initiatives and new business activity
Provide wider team support and complete ad-hoc tasks as required
Uphold strong governance and conduct standards to support positive customer and stakeholder outcomes
What We're Looking For
Experience in financial accounting, technical accounting, or transactional finance
Strong Microsoft Excel capability (certification desirable but not essential)
Comfortable working with large volumes of data and meeting deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear communicator able to engage with a range of stakeholders
Proactive, adaptable, and keen to develop
