Role Purpose:
Seeking an experienced teacher/lecturer to develop high-quality computing courses for students aiming for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the UK and EU. The role involves creating content that builds computational thinking, programming, digital literacy, and critical thinking skills for pre-university and pre-masters foundation programmes.
Responsibilities:
* Develop teaching materials for topics like Introduction to Programming (Python, Java), Computer Science Fundamentals, Hardware & Software, Cloud Computing, Computational Thinking, Digital Literacy, Databases, and Spreadsheets.
* Create engaging lesson plans accommodating diverse learners.
* Prepare narrations for presentations, videos, assessments, and activities.
* Design assessments and provide feedback.
* Support student learning and foster a positive environment.
* Participate in quality assurance, professional development, and curriculum improvement.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
* Experience teaching computing at foundational levels.
* Knowledge of programming and digital technologies.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Familiarity with VLEs like Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas.
* Postgraduate qualification in Education or Computing.
* Teaching certification (e.g., FHEA, CertEd).
* Experience with online/blended teaching.
* Inclusivity awareness and professional conduct.
* Ability to work under pressure and independently.
