Responsibilities
As a Financial Accountant with Hines, you will prepare consolidated financial statements for statutory audit (under IFRS/ US GAAP) with all supporting notes and schedules. You will also liaise with European teams to resolve any issues and ensure timely submission of information, as well as working with the US reporting team to resolve discrepancies and ensure information is submitted in a timely manner. It is pivotal that you respond to auditor queries in a timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Ownership of entity books -- regular monitoring and review to ensure costs and revenues have been correctly allocated
2. Reviewing outsourced accounting team inputs to ensure invoices/expense reports are correctly allocated and payment runs are processed in accordance timetables
3. Regular review of balance sheet accounts; follow up on outstanding items
4. Act as an active finance team member
5. Proactive and ability to work independently
6. Conduct other ad hoc tasks as required
7. Prepare consolidated financial statements for statutory audit (under IFRS/ US GAAP) with all supporting notes and schedules
8. Liaise with European teams to resolve any issues and ensure timely submission of information
9. Work with the US reporting team to resolve discrepancies and ensure information is submitted in a timely manner
10. Respond to auditor queries in a timely and efficient manner
11. Prepare corporation tax computations, including transfer pricing adjustments
12. Liaise with external advisor to finalize and submit the tax returns
13. Prepare the relevant tax notes for the statutory accounts
14. Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT returns
15. Submit financial data for the US tax returns
16. Participate in the annual budgeting process, working closely with country teams to develop accurate forecasts
17. Participate in monitoring of budget performance, identifying deviations and understanding reasons thereof
18. Conduct quarterly reviews of budgets and provide commentary for senior management
19. Monitor cash flows and liquidity position
20. Develop cash flow forecasts to support operational needs
21. Assist with implementing cash management strategies to optimize working capital and mitigate risks
22. Assist with company secretarial compliance on an as and when required
23. Liaising with the company secretarial firm, to ensure all filings are accurate and timely
24. Assist with drafting of loan and intercompany agreements/ assignments
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
25. ACA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification
26. Strong MS Office skills (required)
27. Prior exposure to IFRS (desirable)
28. Prior exposure to US GAAP (desirable)
29. Prior experience with consolidations (required)
30. JD Edwards knowledge or skills (desirable)
31. Detail oriented and organized.
32. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
33. Willing to learn, with a “can do” attitude
