The role
As a Subcontract Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As part of the Supply chain organisation, the Subcontract Manager will have overall accountability, governance for the supply chain design, execution, and performance of subcontract services for all Estates programmes / project(s) across Clyde.
Day to day, you’ll be establishing project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline as well as:
1. Design and engagement of supply chains that meet programme requirements
2. Supporting the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance
3. Assuring Supplier Performance to time, cost and quality for contract requirements against scope of supplier responsibility
4. Establishing process mechanism and control procedures for Project Management compliance throughout the Project life cycle.
5. Establishing appropriate management information to support regular senior management reviews inclusive of key performance indices.
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week and will be based at our HMNB Clyde - Faslane site with hybrid working from home arrangements available. There will be an expectation of one on site day per week and the remainder to be worked from home.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met.
Essential experience of the Subcontract Manager
6. Extensive experience working in complex construction project environments.
7. Deep understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to draft subcontract terms including management of flow-down terms from customer contracts.
8. Experienced procurement practitioner with deep knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and (Relevant experience in Sourcing & Procurement)
9. Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.
10. High quality communication ability, both written and orally.
Qualifications for the Subcontract Manager
11. Degree or Equivalent in relevant subject is desirable or proven experience in a similar role working at management level
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
