Product Functional Test Technology Engineer
Location: Cwmbran, UK
Working hours: 07:30h-16:00h Mon-Thurs, 07:30h-12:30h Fri. No hybrid working expected.
We are looking for a talented Product Functional Test Technology Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for Cummins Meritor in Cwmbran, UK.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate with engineering teams to determine test priorities, clarify requirements, and plan test execution effectively.
* Brake Testing (fatigue, vibration and more)
* Assess rig capacity and readiness to confirm that available test rigs can perform the requested tests safely and accurately.
* Serve as the primary contact and technical owner for designated test rigs, ensuring their optimal operation and reliability.
* Create and maintain detailed rig documentation, including operating procedures, maintenance records, and configuration details.
* Assist in executing laboratory tests requested by customers and other Cummins facilities, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
* Contribute to test system design and improvement, participating in the specification, implementation, validation, and optimization of laboratory test setups for product development.
* Train on and provide support for additional test rigs, enhancing teamүүний flexibility and ensuring coverage across गैę test facility.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and time management, with the ability to ensure tests are carried out correctly and in time to maintain efficient test lab operations.
* Knowledge of function-based product testing, including selecting appropriate equipment, recording and analyzing operational data, and validating test results to support engineering decisions.
* Understanding of laboratory equipment safety, with the ability to assess hazards, analyze risk factors, and apply safeguards to ensure a bounded testing environment for personnel and equipment.
* Experience with product function test system design, including interpreting test specifications, integrating mechanical and electronic components, and assessing lab equipment capability to meet testing requirements.
* Entry level/Early career professional. Preferred candidates would have relevant experience working in a laboratory/test cell environment as a non‑exempt employee, temporary student employee (intern, co‑op) or an early‑career professional in a relevant operations or technical discipline area.
