Position: Depot Manager
Location: Dewsbury
Salary: £55k (Neg DOE), car/allowance, up to 20% bonus and excellent benefits package
Our Client: Is at the forefront of waste, water and energy solutions and management. They recycle over 2 million tonnes of waste annually and generates in excess of 1,210GWh of renewable electricity each year.
Responsibilities
* Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a commercial waste depot which provides waste and recycling solutions from regular collections to specialist disposal services to numerous customers in West and North Yorkshire.
* Oversee site operations, including financial management, business development, strategic planning, and team management.
* Deliver effective & safe services to maximum operational efficiency, within budget and to client standards.
* Lead and mentor a team of employees, foster a positive work environment and promote professional development.
* Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide feedback to ensure the team\'s success.
* Continuously monitor and evaluate operational performance to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
* Drive a culture of customer centricity, ensuring all customer service and operational KPIs are maximised.
* Develop and manage the site budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources and utilisation of the most efficient disposal and recycling solutions.
* Provide clear, transparent and accurate reporting of business performance.
* Deliver operational efficiencies through use of digital media, asset utilisation and cost control.
* Understand local market conditions, competitors and opportunities for growth.
* Nominated Transport Manager with overall responsibility for fleet management.
* Foster relationships with key stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to enhance business operations and market presence.
* Monitor the competitive landscape and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
* Effectively deliver and promote succinct business-related messages and strategies to future customers.
Qualifications
* Experience: IOSH Managing Safely.
* Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent work experience.
* Transport Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
* Financial and budget management experience.
* Fleet management experience.
* Strong understanding of waste management regulations, environmental sustainability, and waste disposal procedures is desirable.
