Children’s Home Registered Manager – 1 Bed Home

Location: Barnsley
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 39 per week
Salary: Up to £46,581.23 (including Ofsted & Occupancy bonuses)

My client has been providing residential care for young people since 1993. There aim is to support young people to build emotional resilience and reach their full potential. They believe in fostering meaningful, professional relationships with those in there care to help them transition successfully into adulthood.

Seeking a Registered Manager to take responsibility for a one-bed children’s home in Barnsley.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will be accountable for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered in line with legislation, Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.

You will lead and inspire a small team to provide safe, nurturing, and effective care tailored to the individual needs of young people.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the home in line with legislation, Ofsted SCIFF and safeguarding standards

*

Leading, supervising and developing the staff team, including recruitment, training, rotas and appraisals

*

Overseeing admissions and discharges, ensuring positive transitions for young people

*

Maintaining accurate records, reports and monitoring systems

*

Managing budgets, expenses and ensuring the home environment is safe and well maintained

*

Acting as the key point of contact with external agencies, commissioners and professionals

*

Participating in on-call rota and, where necessary, covering shifts/sleep-ins

What We’re Looking For

*

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)

*

Experience of managing a team in a children’s residential setting

*

Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

*

Emotional resilience and the ability to support young people with challenging behaviour

*

Strong communication, leadership and decision-making skills

*

Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

*

UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Normal working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. However, flexibility is required to ensure rota cover, including occasional sleep-ins
