Overview
Oxleas are seeking to recruit a clinically skilled, innovative and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to provide clinical and professional leadership across our Intensive Case Management for Psychosis (ICMP), Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP), and Community Mental Health Rehabilitation and Enablement Service (CMHRES) Teams, in the London Borough of Bexley based in Erith. Bexley ICMP is a multi-disciplinary mental health team working within the psychosis pathway within a secondary care community mental health setting.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and professional leadership across ICMP, EIP and CMHRES teams.
* Work alongside another Principal Psychologist and Consultant Clinical Psychologist in taking a locality leading role in managing the provision of psychological therapy in the team.
* Join the team manager and consultant psychiatrist in forming the senior clinical team to provide clinical leadership to the ICMP team.
* Take an operational leadership role in developing the role and remit of psychological therapy in the service, including support and oversight of referral screening and waiting list management, supervision and consultation to the wider team.
* Lead service development and innovation, engage with third sector working, training and work across service transitions as part of the leadership role.
* Ensure clinical time for the provision of highly specialised psychological therapy. Specialist training in a particular modality and supervisory training are highly desirable (e.g., CBTp, FiP, EMDR).
* Supervise the local psychology team and participate in yearly appraisals (PDR).
* Join an established group of senior psychological therapists for peer support and links to senior management.
Team and Service Context
The ICMP psychology team comprises a band 4 Assistant Psychologist, band 7 and 8a psychological therapists, with input from an Art Psychotherapist and Family Therapist, and a borough wide service lead Consultant Psychologist. Doctoral trainee and honorary placement supervision are encouraged, and the service maintains links with the Salomons DClinPsy Doctoral Program.
Professional Development and Governance
* The new incumbent will join a senior group of psychological therapists across the borough as part of an established leadership forum offering peer support and links to senior management.
* Supervision of the local psychology team and yearly appraisals (PDR) form part of the operational tasks of the post.
