Orka Financial is partnering with a large global business to recruit an Accounts Receivable Manager based in Maidenhead. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in FMCG environments, where high transaction volumes, promotional activity, and fast-paced order-to-cash cycles are key. The role will manage 3 direct reports and oversee the end-to-end order-to-cash process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the accurate and timely allocation of cash receipts, ensuring the Accounts Receivable ledger is complete, accurate, and up to date within a high-volume FMCG setting.
* Manage the end-to-end process for customer promotional invoices, including review, distribution to Sales, and ensuring correct coding against relevant accruals—particularly within trade spend and promotional activity common in FMCG.
* Lead and drive debt collection activities, maintaining regular communication with customers to ensure payments are received in line with agreed credit terms.
* Review and approve the preparation and distribution of customer statements on a monthly basis, alongside the timely issuance of daily invoices.
* Take ownership of complex query resolution, identifying root causes and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently to minimise disruption to cash flow.
* Analyse accounts receivable data and trends to identify risks, disputes, and opportunities for process improvement in a fast-moving, commercially driven environment.
* Prepare and manage monthly cash flow forecasts, including setting collection targets, tracking performance, and explaining variances.
* Ensure full compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements across all AR processes.
* Continuously improve AR processes to support scalability and efficiency in a high-volume, FMCG-driven business model.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the AR team, promoting best practices and continuous development.
Key Skills/Experience:
* Proven experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Credit Control, with team management responsibility, gained within an FMCG environment.
* Strong understanding of order-to-cash processes, promotional accounting, and customer deductions typical within FMCG businesses.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal stakeholders and external customers.
* Confident telephone manner, particularly when handling sensitive or escalated credit discussions.
* Highly motivated self-starter with a proactive approach to driving improvements.
* Commitment to professional development, with willingness to pursue relevant Credit Management or Finance qualifications.
* Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse large datasets and support forecasting and reporting.
* Experience with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is advantageous.
* Assertive yet empathetic, able to balance strong cash collection with maintaining positive customer relationships.
