The Opportunity
We are seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant with strong expertise in Socio Economic Analysis (SEA) and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to join our Chemicals division.
This is a role for someone who wants to operate at the centre of chemical regulatory decision making. Our SEA and AoA work directly informs Authorisation and Restriction outcomes under UK REACH and EU REACH. The analysis we produce shapes market access, investment choices and long-term chemical substitution strategies across Europe.
You will work on key projects for industry clients, while contributing to evidence based regulatory processes for the public sector that improve chemical safety and sustainability.
At Senior Consultant level, you will take increasing responsibility for client relationships, delivery leadership and supporting the development of our growing SEA capability.

What You Will Do
* Lead or contribute to Socio Economic Analysis supporting REACH Authorisation and Restriction dossiers
* Deliver high quality Analysis of Alternatives, including substitution strategy development
* Assess technical and economic feasibility of alternative substances and technologies
* Quantify costs, benefits and wider economic impacts of regulatory options
* Design and implement stakeholder engagement strategies
* Analyse complex qualitative and quantitative datasets
* Draft clear, structured and regulator-ready technical reports
* Present findings confidently to clients and stakeholders
* Contribute to proposal writing and business development
* Support cross collaboration with colleagues in environment and society where relevant
* At Senior level, manage workstreams, mentor junior colleagues and support commercial growth
What We Are Looking For
Essential
* 2 to 5 plus years relevant professional experience
* Direct experience delivering SEA and or AoA within a REACH context
* Strong understanding of UK and EU REACH Authorisation and Restriction processes
* Experience assessing substitution options from both technical and economic perspectives
* Ability to structure complex problems clearly and logically
* Excellent written English and report drafting skills
* Strong client facing capability and experience of supporting proposals
* Commercial awareness and understanding of regulatory risk
Salary and Benefits
RPA operates a transparent pay policy, with salary based on relevant experience:
Consultant: from £28,500
Senior Consultant: from £35,500
