Cost Manager - Intermediate or Senior Level\n\nA leading national consultancy in Milton Keynes has openings for a Cost Manager or Senior Cost Manager to join their growing team\n\nWorking on a range of industry-leading schemes, they operate within a range of sectors, including education, healthcare, leisure, and retail. The majority of their workload is refurbishment, and they are most prominent in the retail sector\n\nLots of benefits:\n\n * 27 days' holiday plus bank holidays.\n\n * 6% pension\n\n * All expenses covered for work purposes\n\n * Hybrid working – 2-3 days office & home\n\n * 8.30 to 5 – again flexible – you can start earlier/ finish earlier if you prefer\n\n * Private health insurance and can add your family\n\n * Open plan office\n\n * Informal working environment\n\n * Trust people – manage your workload\n\n * Casual dress\n\n * Regular social events\n\n * Plenty of room to progress\n\n * RICS support\n\nThe roles\n\nYou will be joining an established team and will enjoy working in a collaborative environment in a modern, open-plan office.\n\nYou will focus on work for 1 large client undertaking refurbishment and fit out works, and alongside this, could be looking after improvement works on education schemes, such as re-roofing works, fire upgrades, etc.\n\nOffice/home-based in the main, out seeing clients roughly once a week.\n\nJob Objectives:\n\n * Establishing friendly, professional relationships with clients and being an extension of their team\n\n * Subcontractor tendering and reviewing costs.\n\n * Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with the budget.\n\n * Proactively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, and ensuring that applications are made correctly and promptly.\n\n * Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.\n\n * Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.\n\nThe right person\n\nYou will either have experience working as a Cost Manager or a Quantity Surveyor.\n\nMain contractor or consultancy experience\n\nRefurbishment experience is key (walls, ceilings, floors, M & E)\n\nYou will be used to working at pace on fast turnaround projects\n\nCost Manager / Cost Management / Quantity Surveyor
