Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Deputy Service Manager on a permanent full-time basis, based in Belfast City Centre with a salary of £34,000 per year with a new staff benefit package under review.
Our client is one of Belfast’s most established and well-known hostels, offering exceptional support to male service users with a wide range of mental health illnesses and addictions. While this role offers a Monday – Friday shift pattern, there will be an expectation to cover evenings and weekends outside of this in which time off in lieu will apply.
Responsibilities:
With a full copy of the Job Duties and Person Spec available on request, you will:
1. Work side-by-side with the Service Manager, delivering effective and efficient management of the service, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hostel, providing exceptional support to the service user group.
Requirements:
2. Third-level qualification and two years’ experience in a similar setting OR an HND in a relevant subject with three years’ experience.
3. Minimum 1 year experience supervising/managing staff in a similar setting.
4. Experienced in working with service users who display complex needs, challenging behaviours, mental health illness and addictions.
5. Ability to coach and mentor staff and to liaise effectively with other service providers in the sector.
6. High levels of communication skills; verbal and written and the ability to display empathy.
7. NISCC registered (or agree to register before commencement of employment).
8. Fully flexible to cover shifts that will include evenings and weekends.
