PLEASE NOTE that in order to allow our current Winter team full priority for shift allocation in the coming weeks, we have asked all staff wishing to work over the Christmas period to submit a roster request by Sunday November 24th. After this date, roster requests from returning staff will be taken into consideration and will fill the gaps in the roster left by our winter workers. For those who didn't complete their roster requests by the deadline, we are unable to prioritise your roster requests, which may mean you get less shifts than you need. If for whatever reason you are unable to complete all roster requests before the deadline, yet still intend to work, you must inform management via email prior to November 23rd. You’re friendly, approachable and enthusiastic, with great interpersonal skills. You enjoy engaging with people and are committed to providing outstanding customer service. You’re a confident public speaker and have an excellent command of spoken English. You’re self-motivated, keen to learn, and have the ability to absorb and share knowledge. You’re physically active, energetic and enjoy working outdoors. The returners’ process Our training and coaching programme is unique to us and is the gold standard for visitor attractions in Cambridge. Its purpose is to equip our staff with the skills, knowledge and confidence which will enable them to give our customers the best possible experience. With this in mind we induct all returners and assess their river tours for quality purposes before they start working for us again. To ensure we are providing our customers with the very best guided tour possible, you may be asked to complete some additional training and a skills test. This will be decided depending on how long you have been away from the river and your current tour score. This will also need to be completed before you can apply for shifts. Once you have completed your returners form Marcello will be in touch about training. Other information Special demands of the role As you will recall, this role is physically demanding and requires you to remain on your feet throughout the working day in various weather conditions. In addition, the punting element requires good balance, an appropriate level of fitness and basic swimming ability.
