Your Role

We are looking for a Graduate Process Engineer to be based in Newcastle, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.

We have an exciting opening for an aspiring Process Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative team, where you will have the opportunity to contribute on high‑profile projects, locally and nationally. You will develop your technical skills and knowledge alongside senior engineers, gaining invaluable exposure to the water industry while working on a range of developments from wastewater treatment and water recycling to clean water solutions. Investigating nature‑based solutions is a top priority.

You will analyse and interpret data to inform project decisions, contribute to the design and development of engineering solutions, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

We work on the entire project lifecycle from optioneering through to detailed design and implementation, and there is a possibility of site visits and investigations to broaden your understanding.

Take a look at our Water business line and review the career journey of one of our Graduate Process Engineers.

About You

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with your Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering and a keen interest in the water industry, we’d love to receive your application if you are:

  • Resilient – you stay composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
  • Collaborative – you work effectively with a diverse group, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
  • Problem‑Solver – you are willing to challenge conventional thinking based on what you see.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office four days per week to ensure that colleagues can provide the appropriate level of support.

What We Can Offer You

  • A competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract, demonstrating our commitment to your long‑term career at Stantec
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you to become chartered with ICE.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer group, and wider ERG network

Other Requirements

Applicants must have an unconditional right to live and work in the UK for an indefinite period without limitation.

Interview Schedule

Interviews for this position are anticipated to take place in November 2024. Please note that this is a tentative schedule, and the exact dates may vary.
