We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individuals to join our current team, previous experience of working as an EMIS GP surgery would be beneficial.
We are based in Chester le Street, County Durham which is easily accessible from Newcastle and Durham.
Main duties of the job
Candidates should be committed and enthusiastic and should ideally have experience working within a GP surgery.
We are a supportive and proactive practice. We recognise the increased pressure within General Practice and offer a supportive environment.
We are a training practice for both medical students and GP Trainees and encourage development within the practice.
About us
The practice consists of 2GP Partners, five Salaried GPs, three Practice Nurses, two ANPs, a Health Care Assistants, a GPA and admin members (split into admin and receptionist), a Pharmacists and our PCN colleagues (Care Coordinators, pharmacy technicians, dietitian, first contact physios, mental health practitioners, social prescribers).
We enjoy the work but it is busy and can be demanding so there is plenty of support from the team.
We aim to deliver the best possible service whilst maintaining the healthiest well-being balance as possible.

Job responsibilities
You will be responsible for administrative functions, including but not limited to:
Reception duties providing a positive patient experience, information, advice and signposting
Telephone receive and make telephone calls and respond to voicemails as required
Handling clinical specimens ensuring correct details and appropriate handover
Appointments use GP systems to book, manage and cancel appointments
Patient record management record all patient contacts and ensure timely and accurate data entry
Ensure escalation of issues or urgent clinical cases to the appropriate person
Patient administration and filing support patients with paperwork, registration and record management
Results use of clinical systems to respond to patient result requests
Printing, scanning and photocopying ensuring information is uploaded to records
Workflow processing letters and ensuring continuity of care
Patient tasks and emails/E-consults
Prescriptions including repeat prescriptions
Handle sensitive and confidential information
Recognise and report issues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
Experience
* Experience of working in a GP practice
* Knowledge of clinical coding
