About the role

Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for the next step in your career? We're seeking a Senior Practitioner to join the Children in Care Team at Scott House, Huntingdon. The role offers a hybrid working pattern, combining office and home-based work.

Our goal in Children in Care is to secure permanence for children and young people who are Looked After, ensuring they are in a safe, suitable home that promotes their well-being and development. We support their educational, physical, and mental health needs.

What will you be doing?

The responsibilities of a Senior Practitioner in Children in Care include:

* Leading complex cases involving risks and safety concerns for children, young people, and families.
* Producing concise, analytical reports for court and other settings.
* Providing leadership and supervision to Social Workers and Child Practitioners, supporting their performance and development.
* Supporting NQSWs in their ASYE and acting as an assessor; supervising Student Social Workers.
* Planning, allocating, and reviewing cases.
* Participating in recruitment and induction of staff.
* Collaborating with the Team Manager on case audits and management tasks.


About you

We seek confident, dynamic individuals who enjoy making a difference in their community, are curious, observant, and relationship-oriented.

You must:

* Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Be able to work flexibly across locations and travel countywide independently.
