The Role As the Machining Conformance Engineer you will be: Providing product engineering support for the NPI process on all prototype jobs Ensuring condition of supply is defined for all jobs Engineering sign off of finished machined parts to the requisite of Gateway 4 Manage/ create specification and work instructions to point of use for inspection, measurement and testing commensurate with the agreed process route Carrying out feature checks using a wide range of inspection equipment as appropriate Visiting sub contract machinists to sign off ISIR/ measurement reports before parts dispatch Customer liaison, where required, for all jobs. Hold technical discussion with team members and customers alike. Inspection/ final view of finished castings prior to machine shop dispatch. Supporting customers in a product engineering capacity.The Person To be successful in the role of Machining Conformance Engineer you will have the following skills and experience: Strong technical grasp of machining of castings and end use by customers. Strong technical grasp of inspection of machined parts and end use by customers. Understanding and practical experience of Geometrical Dimensioning Tolerance Competent with engineering drawings, 3D data models and interpretations of the norms therein.
