Sales Engineer - MRO
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), with hybrid working options available.
Working within a dynamic MRO Sales environment, the Sales Engineer will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive proposals and supporting the wider business in delivering high-quality maintenance solutions to customers. Reporting directly to the Head of MRO Sales, this role requires a strong technical understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation, cost estimation, and customer relationship management.
Main Responsibilities
* Analyse and interpret aircraft maintenance documentation, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs).
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and develop bespoke customer proposals for maintenance projects.
* Generate accurate and comprehensive quotations for services and parts.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of proposals and solutions.
* Research and analyse market trends, including parts pricing, maintenance schedules, and competitor offerings.
* Liaise with customers and internal departments throughout the Front End planning process to ensure a seamless transition from proposal to execution.
* Develop and maintain databases used for sales and quotation management.
* Support the collation and validation of data for invoicing and reporting purposes.
* Undertake general and technical administration as required.
* Attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences, as required (occasional travel).
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required Essential
* Strong understanding of aviation documentation, including AMMs, SBs, ADs, STCs, and modification/design records.
* Proven experience in sales, commercial, or engineering roles within the aviation or MRO industry.
* Excellent analytical skills, with experience in cost estimation and proposal preparation.
* Ability to research and interpret market data, competitor analysis, and pricing trends.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
* Capable of working collaboratively with internal departments to support the delivery of customer projects.
* Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and events.
Desirable
* Familiarity with aviation or MRO software systems
* A relevant technical or engineering qualification (eg, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering).
