Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Automotive Body Repairer to support unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.

Essential Duties

1. Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
2. Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
3. Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
4. Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
5. Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
6. Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
7. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
8. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
9. Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
10. Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
11. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
12. Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

13. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
14. High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
15. Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
16. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
17. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
18. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
19. Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
20. Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
21. Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
22. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
23. Valid country driver's license and passport.
24. Country visa (as required in line with the Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

Physical requirements

25. Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.

26. Frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

27. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell.

28. Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds.

29. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.

30. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock.

31. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

32. Safety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks, and serving on safety committees and teams.
