Assistant Site Manager – Exeter

Salary: £45,000 + Car Allowance + 10% Bonus
Overview
We’re supporting a well-established national housebuilder to recruit an Assistant Site Manager for a major residential development in Exeter. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience delivering high-quality new build homes and enjoys working in a fast-paced, organised environment.
You’ll support the Site Manager with daily operations, ensuring homes are delivered safely, on programme and to excellent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support day-to-day site operations and supervise subcontractors.
2. Complete weekly planning to help achieve build programme deadlines.
3. Ensure materials and resources are available in line with build requirements.
4. Ensure all operatives comply with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
5. Maintain site environmental standards and compliance.
6. Inspect works at all build stages, ensuring compliance with NHBC and building regulations.
7. Attend and coordinate NHBC and Local Authority inspections.
8. Produce snag lists and ensure plots are defect-free ahead of completion.
9. Work closely with the Sales team on customer choices, variations, and queries.
10. Assist with Home Quality Inspections (HQIs) and ensure homes are ready for legal completion.
11. Support customer care post-handover as required.
12. Maintain excellent site presentation standards.
13. Ensure subcontractors follow waste segregation and environmental procedures.
Experience & Requirements
14. Previous experience delivering new build housing with a housebuilder.
15. Trade background preferred.
16. NVQ Level 4 in Residential Construction Site Supervision (or working towards).
17. Strong knowledge of NHBC requirements and Building Regulations.
18. CSCS card (Manager/Supervisor level), First Aid at Work, and SMSTS.
