Mint Selection is partnered with a UK-based renewable energy platform that invests, builds, owns, and operates utility-scale generation and energy storage assets.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client's growing construction management team. You will play a key role in the design, implementation, and management of transmission connected solar and battery storage projects. The position requires expertise in grid code compliance, protection and controls, power system studies, earthing, SCADA and communications, metering, system design across several different projects.
You will be part of a collaborative and down-to-earth team with a fast-paced hands-on work ethic. This is a unique opportunity for a talented and ambitious engineer to take a leading role in a dynamic and impactful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of electrical systems for solar and battery storage projects.
* Manage contractors and technical specialists conducting grid compliance studies.
* Conduct site visits / inspections and assessments to inspect works and progress.
* Contribute to the development of technical specifications.
* Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
* Review contractor designs, installation, commissioning and testing of electrical systems, and manage the technical interfaces.
* Lead grid code compliance and registration process with NGET, NESO etc.
* Support the Project Managers in tracking progress and programme, design, quality and risks associated with electrical workstreams to ensure successful project delivery.
* Monitor project progress and proactively implement corrective actions as needed.
* Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in renewable energy.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Experienced in electrical project management for large scale renewable energy assets.
* Experience with solar and battery storage technology desirable.
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in protection and control, and power system studies.
* Strong understanding of UK electrical standards and regulations.
