Are you good with your hands? Are you able to fix things, build things as needed, and have the skills of a plumber, repairman, and carpenter? If so, then our Engineer job is calling your name! Come join the elite team who work in the Engineering department at Virgin Hotels! They ensure that everything in the hotel from the guest rooms (a.k.a. chambers), meeting rooms, restaurants, offices, is in good working order for our guests, clients, vendors and teammates.
The Details:
What exactly you will be doing…
* Complete assigned work orders for general repair within assigned time frame in order to achieve the utmost operational efficiency of the hotel, its safety and its equipment.
* Performs systematic PPM checks and inspections to aid in the upkeep of the hotel and assists in the established proactive maintenance program in order to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns and general depreciation.
* Immediately and courteously responds to guests needs to repair and/or resolve room maintenance requests and problems as they arise.
* Maintain tools, workspaces and equipment in safe, secure and good condition to reduce accidents and to prolong their use
* Assists department in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for the safety of all guests and teammates.
* Perform H&S checks and tasks such as: Emergency lighting test, fire alarm and sprinkler tests, refuge call points, fire extinguisher checks and making sure it’s all logged in our Saeker H&S portal.
* Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous manner at all times, whether working as a team or by yourself.
* The Engineer will cover other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Background must-have:
* Previous experience working in a hotel Engineer or maintenance role.
* Good working knowledge in the following areas:
General plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Painting and decorating. Basic refrigeration and air conditioning knowledge. Plantroom equipment knowledge such us: boilers, fans, gas interlock systems, BMS systems, kitchen equipment.
* Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management/co-workers, both in person, on the telephone and through email.
* Need to be competent and able to use Outlook emails, Apps such as Alice/HMS, excel sheets and others.
* Current right to work in the UK.
