Our Physical Therapy Team
We are a dynamic and collaborative team of professionals with diverse specialties dedicated to assisting patients in achieving their functional goals and returning to the activities they love. Our team has expertise in Orthopedic and Sports Clinical Specialties, Women's Health, Geriatric Care, and includes clinicians with McKenzie Certification. We emphasize a patient-centered approach, utilizing innovative treatments such as BFR, Dry Needling, myofascial release, Rock and McConnell Taping, Mechanical Traction, among others.
Our patient care model allows for extended one-on-one sessions, providing ample time to optimize each patient's treatment. We maintain close collaboration with physicians, host monthly journal clubs, and invest in continuing education, including a complimentary Medbridge account. Team members can participate in community marketing events, reflecting our commitment to community engagement.
As affiliates of multiple Physical Therapy programs, we contribute to the education and mentorship of future Physical Therapists. New graduates benefit from mentorship through regular meetings with experienced clinicians, fostering professional growth.
Responsibilities/Duties
What you’ll do:
* Provide hand therapy services including evaluations and treatment in accordance with policies, procedures, state laws, and the professional code of ethics.
* Treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions of the fingers, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
* Design, implement, and modify therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy (including soft tissue and joint mobilization), physical agents or modalities, and patient education (including home exercise programs).
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation including evaluations, SOAP notes, flow sheets, reevaluations (every 30 days or 10 visits for Medicare patients), and discharge summaries, in compliance with laws and regulations.
* Ensure complete and accurate billing practices and assist with authorizations.
* Participate in in-service presentations and continuing education activities.
* Practice safely to minimize risks to patients, self, and others.
* Adhere to the clinic dress code—logo shirts or business casual attire.
* Report to the Physical Therapy Director.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Who you are:
* Licensed Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist in Connecticut, with at least one year of experience in orthopedics and hand treatment.
* Certified Hand Therapist preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.
* Experience fabricating custom hand splints.
* Proficient with EMR systems.
* Excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
