Charity Jobs NI (part of the Happy Jobs group) is partnering with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive, organized, and dedicated Local Environmental Quality Coordinator for their LEQ team. About the Role: Coordinate and project manage environmental quality and certification programs within the LEQ department, working closely with the Local Environmental Quality Manager to ensure effective delivery, stakeholder engagement, and supervision of departmental officers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordination: Manage resources and field officers to deliver programs effectively within budget and deadlines.
2. Project Management: Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental initiatives.
3. Surveying and Certifications: Coordinate programs like Blue Flag, Green Flag, and cleanliness surveys across boroughs.
4. Community Engagement: Promote community participation and expand geographical coverage of sustainability initiatives.
5. Communications: Serve as the primary contact, respond to inquiries, represent the charity at events, and prepare content.
6. Research Support: Assist with research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
7. Authority and Decision-making: Manage stakeholder communications and assist in marketing efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or 3 years' equivalent experience; at least 1 year in surveying/auditing; 2 years in program delivery; 1 year in staff supervision.
Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
Skills & Requirements:
* Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office)
* Full valid driving license and access to transportation
Knowledge & Understanding:
* Environmental issues (essential)
* Behavior change principles (desirable)

* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Additional Requirements:
* Occasional travel within Northern Ireland
* Flexibility for occasional beyond-hours work
Work Hours & Salary:
Flexible hours between 8am - 6pm, core hours 10am - 4pm, Monday - Friday. Hybrid work (2 days in Belfast). Salary: £30,328. Contract: Permanent (funding-dependent).
This position is partially funded through the DAERA Environment Fund. Applications close at 9am on Monday, 28th April 2025. Interviews scheduled for Wednesday, 7th May 2025, in Belfast.
