Responsibilities
* Investigate allegations of fraud, corruption and irregularity committed within or against West Lothian Council.
* Secure evidence to a suitable standard for internal disciplinary and criminal court proceedings.
* Draft fraud reports for each case and make recommendations for improvement in internal controls.
* Contribute to proactive fraud prevention by developing and delivering fraud awareness training across the council.
* Conduct internal audits and provide advice to services on internal control and risk management matters.
Qualifications
* Computer literacy, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, effective analytical skills and the ability to work in a confidential environment are essential.
