Designit are looking for a Commercial Director to work in London, Zurich, Frankfurt or Munich on a permanent basis. The Commercial Director role with Designit is responsible for driving strategic business development and commercial growth across the region. This role leads the integration of Designit’s offerings into large-scale transformation projects, manages the commercial pipeline, and ensures the achievement of ambitious revenue and order book targets.


The Commercial Director serves as a key partner to internal and external stakeholders, shaping commercial strategies, responding to market opportunities, and driving Designit’s commercial success.



Key Responsibilities


Business Development & Pipeline Management

* Own and drive the regional commercial pipeline, ensuring a robust flow of new business opportunities.
* Lead the identification, qualification, and pursuit of new clients and projects, including responding to RFPs and developing compelling proposals.
* Integrate Designit’s offerings into Wipro’s large accounts and transformation programmes, working closely with Wipro’s sub-regional and industry-sector heads.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to expand Designit’s market presence.


Commercial Strategy & Execution

* Develop and execute commercial strategies that align with Designit’s vision, mission, and regional growth objectives.
* Set and deliver against the region's annual order book and revenue targets.
* Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and commercial terms for new and existing engagements.
* Ensure profitability and margin protection across all commercial activities, collaborating with the Delivery and Design teams.


Market Positioning & Thought Leadership

* Represent Designit in senior-level client forums, industry events, and public platforms to strengthen market positioning.
* Act as a thought leader, promoting Designit’s value proposition and market differentiators.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform commercial strategy.


Collaboration & Team Leadership

* Work closely with regional leaders (e.g., Client Service, Design, Delivery) to ensure seamless integration of commercial activities with client delivery.
* Mentor and guide commercial team members, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and collaboration.
* Promote Designit’s five values—Inspiring, Curious, Daring, Thoughtful, Inclusive—across all commercial interactions.


Operational Excellence

* Monitor commercial performance metrics, including pipeline health, win rates, and revenue realisation.
* Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance standards, and risk management protocols.
* Contribute to regional planning, forecasting, and reporting activities.


Success Metrics

* Achievement of order book and revenue growth targets.
* Expansion of Designit’s client base and service footprint.
* Profitability and margin protection across commercial activities.
* Strength of client and partner relationships.
* Positive team culture and high employee engagement within the commercial function.


Skills & Experience Required

* Proven experience in business development, commercial leadership, or strategic account management within design, consulting, or technology sectors.
* Strong commercial acumen: pricing, negotiation, contract management, and profitability oversight.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior client and partner relationships.
* Familiarity with design thinking, experience design, and innovation methodologies.
* Leadership: team management, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
* Exceptional communication and influencing skills, both internally and externally.
* Extensive experience in commercial roles, business development, or strategic account management within design, consulting, or technology sectors.
* Track record of delivering revenue growth and managing multi-million-dollar commercial portfolios.
* Strong network within relevant industries and ability to leverage relationships for business development.
