We are excited to welcome a new Consultant Gastroenterologist to our dynamic team based at York Hospital for a fixed-term 12 month post. This is a 10 PA post over five days. Main duties of the job
The post will support both Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics. The role will involve management of both specialty clinics and support research, teaching, and quality improvement projects. We are open to discuss any specific or specialised job plans that candidates may desire, including flexible or less than full‑time working.
Job responsibilities
* Support both Gastroenterology and Hepatology patient care
* Deliver high quality patient care in accredited clinics
* Involve in research, audits and quality improvement projects
* Provide teaching and supervision to medical students and junior trainees
* Participate in sub‑specialist commitments as required
Person Specification
Qualification
* Full GMC registration with license to practice
* Medical Degree
* MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
* Substantive NHS experience
Eligibility & Fitness to Practice
* Eligible to work in the UK
Teaching and Supervision
* Experience in teaching & supervising medical students and junior trainees
* Experience of supervising SpRs/specialist trainees; higher teaching qualification
Research and Audit
* Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings
* Able to critically review and apply research to clinical situations
Clinical practice / competence
* Ability to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in Gastroenterology +/- general medicine
