We now have an exciting opportunity at our busy Telford Park Branch so if you can provide our customers with a knowledgeable, friendly, and dependable service whilst at the same time optimizing sales and gross profit and effectively work as part of a team as well as on your own, ensuring that our customers' expectations are not just met but exceeded then this role would be ideal for you.
The Role:
As a Transport Scheduler, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling daily delivery routes for our fleet of Crane lorries and LGV,s, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and efficient service to our customers. Working closely with drivers, warehouse teams, sales staff and the wider transport office, you'll play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and optimise daily delivery routes across multiple vehicles.
* Ensure compliance with driver hours, vehicle capacity, and transport regulations.
* Communicate schedules clearly to drivers and respond to issues as they arise.
* Monitor delivery progress and adjust schedules when needed.
* Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure orders are ready and loaded correctly.
* Handle customer delivery queries in a professional and efficient manner.
* Maintain accurate records and update scheduling systems.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
* Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Clear and confident communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Good problem-solving ability and adaptability when plans change.
* Strong IT skills (experience with route planning software is an advantage).
* Knowledge of transport regulations and driver hours (preferred but not essential).
* Experience in a transport office or logistics environment (desirable).
