We are thrilled to be recruiting for a Highway Engineering Team lead to join our client in Fareham. Our client is a fast growing, award winning structural engineering and transport planning consultancy. As Highway Engineering Team Lead, you will support the management of a growing highways engineering team and oversee the delivery of fast-paced, complex schemes for a diverse client base.
Duties and Responsibilities for Senior Civil Engineer:
* Lead a highways engineering team delivering S278, S38 and S184 schemes, as well as providing pre-planning advice
* Manage day-to-day team resources to ensure efficient project delivery
* Monitor and achieve monthly invoicing targets
* Prepare fee proposals and manage project budgets effectively
* Identify and secure additional fees for out-of-scope work
* Undertake and oversee highways design work
* Provide engineering input to support the transport planning team
* Contribute to board reports and regular team updates
* Drive continuous improvement in processes and team efficiency
* Ensure high-quality drawing outputs and technical standards
* Line manage, mentor and support the development of team members
* Contribute to business development activities and attend client meetings
About You: / Experience required:
* Proven experience in business development
* Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
* Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Chartered Institution of Highways and
* Transportation (CIHT), or a similar professional body
* Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred
* Significant experience in a similar consultancy environment
* Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing projects
* Strong commercial awareness with excellent client-facing skills
