An opportunity has arisen in the Pharmacotherapy Team within NHS Borders for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician. This role supports the delivery of the primary care clinical pharmacy service. You will join an established pharmacy team responsible for medicines management and pharmacy input across primary care settings.
The role involves collaboration with Primary Care Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, GPs, and other health and social care professionals to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care. It includes delivering the Pharmacotherapy service as part of the GMS contract and supporting patients with their medicines.
NHS Borders pharmacy teams are known for innovative working methods and for developing the roles of pharmacy staff. Training, education, and personal development are prioritized, with opportunities for further growth as the service evolves.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and IT skills, along with the ability to influence and implement change. Candidates should have relevant pharmacy experience and be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
This position is based in the Pharmacy Hub at Newtown St Boswells, with working hours from Monday to Friday, totaling over 37 hours per week.
