Fourblue have teamed up with leading Tier 1 Contractor who is seeking a proactive and driven Senior Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in infrastructure or substation estimating who is ready to take the next step in their career.
This role will see you working on a range of tenders for high voltage (HV) substation works – covering both mechanical and electrical, as well as civils – in collaboration with Bid Managers, Project Development Managers, and Pre-Contract Construction Managers.

You’ll be responsible for pricing and securing new contracts, ensuring bids are competitive, commercially sound, and aligned with client requirements.
Responsibilities of the Senior Estimator:
* Organising and managing tender pricing communications
* Supporting bid kick-off meetings and contributing to bid programme planning
* Collaborating with procurement and commercial teams on RFQs
* Preparing Excel-based tender pricing using supply chain quotes and internal rates
* Benchmarking, analysing quotations, and testing productivity rates
* Leading pricing handover meetings and supporting risk management discussions
* Identifying and managing project risks and commercial exposures during the tender process
* Preparing client-facing pricing documents and assisting with presentations post-submission
* Mentoring junior estimators and driving continuous improvement within the estimating function
Criteria for the Senior Estimator:
* At least 3 years of experience in an infrastructure estimating role (substation experience desirable)
* Basic knowledge of engineering or construction processes and terminology
* The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* A good understanding of commercial and contractual language
* Flexibility in working hours to meet tender submission timescales
* A full UK driving licence
