The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Family Law Paralegal to join the team and support the Senior Solicitor while working closely with another Paralegal in the department. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with existing legal aid experience who is keen to develop their career within family law.
Key Responsibilities

Managing your own caseload of legally aided family law matters under supervision

Assisting the Senior Solicitor with day-to-day case progression
*
Drafting legal documents and correspondence
*
Preparing bundles and documentation for court hearings
*
Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, and external agencies
*
Ensuring files are maintained in accordance with Legal Aid Agency requirements
*
Time recording and compliance with legal aid billing procedures
*
Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver high-quality client care
Requirements
*
Minimum of 6 months’ experience working in a family law department handling legal aid matters
*
Proven file handling experience
*
Good working knowledge of legal aid processes and compliance
*
Strong organisational and time-management skills
*
Confident communicator with a professional and empathetic approach to clients
*
Ability to work effectively within a small, close‑knit team
Working Arrangements
*
Full-time, office-based role (5 days per week)
*
Some flexibility for hybrid working may be considered in the future, depending on the Paralegal’s experience and performance
