 
        
        Job Overview
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective and efficient running of our flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and broader business. You will join a MEICA team that prioritises, plans and delivers the maintenance or replacement of crucial assets to protect homes, businesses and the environment while meeting the challenges posed by global climate change.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide strong technical leadership and ensure MEICA design and technical standards are upheld.
 * Monitor quality, advise on specialist MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across geographically diverse assets.
 * Lead on safety investigations, root‑cause analysis, reliability engineering and process improvement.
 * Prepare and review technical specifications and documentation for multi‑disciplinary projects.
 * Act as technical liaison with contractors and internal partners, supporting incident response and flood incident management.
Experience and Skills
 * Comprehensive knowledge of engineering statutory legislation, British and European standards.
 * Leadership experience in safety investigations and behavioural safety improvement.
 * Strong background in Root Cause Analysis, reliability engineering, and technical specification development.
 * Education: minimum HNC/D or degree in an appropriate Mechanical discipline (Level 4 qualification with I‑Eng registration considered).
Other Requirements
 * Full UK driving licence (essential).
 * Professional registration at I‑Eng or C‑Eng preferred but not essential.
