We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our trainees in the provision of daytime anaesthesia in a supervised capacity. Training and supervision will be provided in a manner similar to our existing trainees and will take into account the candidate's educational requirements. In addition, the successful candidate would partake in the senior anaesthetic trainee or obstetric trainee on-call rota, alongside ST3 and CT-level anaesthetic trainees.
Main duties of the job
Partake in the day-to-day running of operating lists in all specialties, under both direct and indirect supervision.
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of anaesthesia for on-call and elective daytime surgery.
To share with colleagues, responsibility for the Obstetric and Senior Anaesthetic Trainee on-call rota.
To cover the Critical Care Unit to intermediate training standards.
To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in Continuing Medical Education (CME).
To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.
To attend Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust meetings as appropriate.
Fulfil duties of weekly timetable including any out-of- hours responsibilities.

* Primary FRCA MCQ exam pass and application for Primary OSCE/viva exam
* GMC Registration with a full licence to practice..

* Possession of Anaesthesia Initial Assessment of Competence certificate (or equivalent).
* Possession of Initial Obstetric Anaesthesia Competence certificate (or equivalent).
* Two years of Anaesthesia experience in a recognised training post as ACCS or CT-level trainee or equivalent.
* Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek advice from senior colleagues as appropriate.
* Experienced in Quality Improvement and Clinical Governance and the benefits of how this improves the quality of care provided to patients and ensuring this is embedded in clinical practice.
* Speak fluent English to at least I.E.L.R.S level 7.5.
