Job Title: Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - Learning Disability Psychology Team
The Learning Disability Psychology Team (LDPT) in NHS Forth Valley is seeking an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist who is passionate about evidence-based, person-centred, and collaborative practice. We welcome applications from candidates nearing qualification.
The LDPT supports adults (over 18 years old) with learning disabilities and their carers/families through highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions, including multi-agency and systemic work. The post offers excellent opportunities for service development and clinical leadership, with options to work within area-wide specialist LD teams such as forensic, ASD, or dementia teams.
The post holder will also provide consultancy, supervision, and training to multidisciplinary colleagues. We offer multiple therapeutic modalities, including pathways for CBT, BFT, PBS, and Trauma.
As part of the wider Psychological Services department, there are ample opportunities for networking and involvement in service-wide projects. We support continuous professional development (CPD) through reflective practice groups and departmental CPD events.
**Minimum Requirements:**
1. Post Graduate Doctoral level (or equivalent) degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology.
2. Registration with the HCPC.
3. Experience working with adults with learning disabilities.
4. Willingness to travel across the service area.
Preferred but not essential: experience or training in neuropsychology, dementia, neurodevelopmental disorders, or forensic issues.
