We are working with a leading engineering contractor in the water and utilities sector who are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of wastewater treatment projects across the UK, working on innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll assist in all aspects of electrical design, from feasibility studies through to detailed design, procurement, and support during installation and commissioning. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and project teams to ensure technical excellence, compliance, and smooth project delivery. Key Responsibilities * Support the Senior/Lead Electrical Design Engineer in delivering design packages for water and wastewater treatment projects. * Carry out site surveys, feasibility studies, detailed design work, and tender pricing. * Produce electrical design deliverables including drawings, specifications, and cable calculations. * Prepare procurement documentation for electrical equipment and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors. * Provide design support during installation and commissioning phases. * Ensure designs comply with Health & Safety, CDM, environmental, and sustainability standards. * Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and structural engineers to coordinate design outputs. * Mentor junior engineers and support the development of the wider design team. Skills & Experience * Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). * Ideally a member of the IET, with aspirations toward Chartered status. * Knowledge of CDM 2015 Designer and Principal Designer duties. * Experience with electrical design for water and/or wastewater treatment projects (highly desirable). * Ability to produce accurate and clear design deliverables at all stages. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel for site visits when required.
