Responsibilities
* Delivery of a post-graduate educational programme for the EMHP role delivered by Kings College London (KCL).
* Roles funded at NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) bottom of Band 4, gaining credits towards a post-graduate diploma level qualification, with guaranteed employment on successful completion of training, starting salary at NHS AfC Band 5 scale with NELFT (see Band 4 and Band 5 Job Descriptions).
* EMPHs are required to become registered practitioners on qualification with British Psychological Society (BPS) or British Association for Behaviour and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP); memberships and fees may apply and should be discussed during training.
* Funding by NHS England (formerly HEE). Details about course funding explained at interview. You will not be charged university fees; the posts are to train and you will undertake the postgraduate EMHP course alongside employment with NELFT as an EMHP trainee.
* Delivery of the university programme will begin in January 2025 and run for 12 months, combining taught days, practical experience in education wellbeing and mainstream mental health services, and independent study days.
* Work with various age groups and families across Kent and Medway; under clinical supervision as part of a dynamic NHS mental health team in a creative environment.
* Use evidence-based interventions, embrace new ideas and approaches, and support children and young people; demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with a passion for working with children and young people in educational settings.
* Training year includes university learning and placement hours in school, predominantly during term time; 80% of annual leave is expected to be taken in school holiday periods to prevent service disruption and completion of the University Training Programme.
* Key responsibilities while training: deliver interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems; support access to specialist services for more severe cases; support and facilitate staff in education settings to address mental health and wellbeing; work within education environments to improve access to specialist services; join an existing EMHP team with buddy support for trainees.

Employment Details and Timelines
Funding: NHS England; Trainees will undertake the postgraduate EMHP course alongside employment with NELFT as EMHP trainee.
