The vacancy We're are looking for an experienced accounts payable manager. This is an exciting opportunity to develop professionally while making a significant impact within a transforming and supportive finance team. Reporting to the senior manager of financial process solutions, you'll be responsible for leading the accounts payable & vendor support service, ensuring it operates in line with service level agreements, policies, and controls. You will oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and vendor account reconciliation. Your role will also involve building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, driving process efficiencies, and continuously improving financial operations. As a key leader, you will mentor and develop your team, setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing constructive feedback to ensure high levels of engagement and professional growth. You will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring that best practices are implemented to enhance operational performance and reduce manual processes through automation and system enhancements. You will also play a crucial role in compliance, overseeing audits, supplier statement reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. In addition, you will collaborate with internal departments to resolve any blockers, work with Tech and Change teams to support system upgrades, and contribute to financial reporting by preparing key accounts payable metrics and analyses. This role is available as a full time 6-month fixed term contract. You'll be based from our main office in Wolverhampton with regular home working available. A basic DBS and consumer check are required. We are looking for an experienced finance professional with at least five years in accounts payable, including two years in a managerial role. You should have a strong track record of managing high-volume AP processes, driving change, and delivering best-in-class service. Experience working within a customer-focused finance function with service level agreements is essential, as is confidence in engaging with finance and non-finance stakeholders. A recognised professional accountancy qualification or equivalent experience is required, along with strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
