Cyber Security Officer
Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Reading and Havant
Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + performance‑related bonus and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
Vetting Requirement: Candidates will be required to obtain vetting to SC level through UK Government. The criteria normally includes 5 years UK residency.
We are currently recruiting for Distribution Security Officer to join our Distribution Cyber security team.
As a Cyber Security Officer, you’ll be responsible for the assessment and improvement of cyber security within Operational Technology, Information Technology and Data of SSEN Distribution. You will also work with the different directorates within SSEN Distribution and project teams to ensure that designs and architecture meet security requirements. The role will provide domain expertise for SSEN Distribution to protect our technology systems, leading the interface between SSE Group Cyber Defence Teams and the operational teams within SSEN Distribution.
You Will
* Ensure compliance with the NIS Regulations; this involves maintenance of Cyber Assessment Frameworks and development, as well as auditing of improvement plans to increase the maturity of cyber security within SSEN.
* Work closely with the business and system owners to drive the maintenance of their cyber security risk registers for the technical systems owned or operated by SSEN Distribution.
* Make recommendations to prioritise security investments to improve the cyber security within SSEN Distribution.
* Support the development of the skillset of the cyber security team within SSEN Distribution.
* Represent the Technology, Digital & Data directorate as a security expert and contribute to discussions and consultations with various teams within SSEN Distribution, SSE Group IT, and other Business Units within SSE.
You Have
* Professional certification, such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or working towards something similar.
* Strong understanding of theoretical and practical knowledge of managing cyber security within a business that operates Operational Technology systems.
* Strong understanding of cyber security legal/regulatory requirements for a business operating within the Energy industry.
* Experience in developing training plans and a proven record of training people to successfully fulfil their role.
