Are you looking for a new challenge in the new year? If so, why not consider becoming an Imaging Assistant within the Imaging department at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
It is an exciting time to join the Trust as a new scanning centre is due to open in Spring 2026 and there are two Community Diagnostic Centres at Lloyds Court and Whitehouse Park.
Responsibilities
* Prioritise patient care by transporting patients safely to and from imaging and caring for them during their time in the various modalities in imaging, such as Ultrasound, CT and MRI.
* Perform housekeeping duties and some administrative tasks.
* Undergo induction and training in venepuncture, cannulation and completion of the care certificate.
* Drive essential as work will be across all three sites.
Qualifications
* Demonstrate awareness and respond to the wellbeing of a wide range of patients.
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and General X‑ray examinations including anatomy and medical terminology relevant to a range of different clinical areas.
* Work within all imaging modalities.
* Be fully conversant with all aspects of the Radiology Information System for administrative tasks.
* Provide administrative support, answering the phone and dealing with queries as appropriate.
* Demonstrate and apply knowledge of Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999 (IRR99), Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations (IRMER), MRI safety, moving and handling, health and safety, infection control and information governance policies.
* Be prepared for potentially distressing or aggressive situations and behave appropriately.
* Liaise with ward staff to coordinate inpatient preparation and appointment booking for radiological procedures.
* Liaise with the paediatric team for booking MRIs under sedation for young children.
