This is an exciting opportunity to employ an Assistant Psychologist to deliver the Clinical Care Pathways in KMMH's North Kent Directorate on a 5‑month fixed contract until September 30th 2026. The role involves implementing the ‘Initial Interventions’—an evidence‑based, psychologically informed, manualised intervention delivered across Dartford MHT services and the new posts will deliver this intervention for the population in Dartford secondary care and in Mental Health Together.
With a focus on psychologically informed interventions, these roles play a significant part in delivering the brief manualised intervention known as ‘Initial Interventions’ under the supervision of qualified psychological practitioners.
You will be part of a dedicated community mental health team, working closely with a group of three Assistant Psychologists in the DGS, North Kent Directorate. You will deliver Initial Interventions in both individual and group formats, receiving training, weekly supervision and the opportunity to develop your own clinical practice and contribute to research and evaluation.
Responsibilities
* Deliver ‘Initial Interventions’ to adults accessing the MHT service as part of the Clinical Care Pathways.
* Provide other structured therapeutic psychological interventions within the guidelines of a qualified psychologist and the MHT manager.
* Conduct structured assessments using Dialog Plus.
* Perform clinical and service performance‑related administration, audit and research projects, teaching and service improvement work under the guidance of a qualified psychologist.
* Offer psychological guidance and support to carers and families of service users, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
* Use initiative and work independently within guidelines, knowing when to refer to a qualified psychologist for clinical decisions and guidance.

* High‑Cost Area (HCA) allowance (London Weighting) based on working in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley: 5% of basic salary, with a minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum of £2,121.
