Your new role
Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent children with disabilities, an experienced Advanced Practitioner.As the newly appointed AP, it will be your responsibility to skilfully manage complex work with the most vulnerable children in the community & in our care, whilst mentoring & supporting less experienced colleagues to grow and develop as practitioners.
You will provide support to children with disabilities and their families, while maintaining a safeguarding approach to protecting children. You will be required to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people, appropriate to experience and capabilities. There will also be a need to prepare written reports as and when required, including statements/care plans for care proceedings in the Family Proceedings & County/High Courts.As well as this, you will proactively liaise with & work in partnership with other agencies/organisations/parents & carers and provide allocation & oversight of Transition Plans: Ensuring robust/timely transition plans are in place for young people moving into adulthood.
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 2 days a week.
