Overview
Special Education Needs Tutor role at Targeted Provision. Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for young people with SEN / SEND, SEMH, and other additional educational needs required in Kent. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We aim to raise the standard of support for vulnerable learners, with a team around the child supported by our SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and will require support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each session of teaching/tutoring/mentoring
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet the learner’s needs and support their educational and social-emotional journey
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance to obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with the right to work in the UK, including remote/online assignments

SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker, providing short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
