This role is a hybrid Technical Project / Product Manager & Business Analyst that will manage critical growth initiatives and regulatory obligations for the Asset and Wealth Management Division (AWM).
Responsibilities
* Collaborating with Divisional and Engineering Management, Operations, Legal and Compliance to define and document the problem domain and requirements.
* Working with Engineering leadership and teams (within AWM and across Divisions of the firm) to agree on solution design, resourcing and deliverables.
* Supporting the Engineering teams during the entire development lifecycle by liaising with the broader project team to ensure supporting dependencies and deliverables are being met.
* Holding project teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.
* Defining, agreeing and tracking key project delivery metrics such as OKRs and Measures of Success and communicating status to senior leadership on a regular basis.
* Acquiring a deep functional knowledge of the problem domain and functional areas, providing an opportunity to demonstrate intellectual curiosity at all times.
* Asking focused questions and rapidly gaining an in-depth understanding of the current processes and comparing and relating to similar situations.
* Applying first‑principles / critical thinking to challenge assumptions (such as functional requirements and solution designs).
* Conducting detailed problem tracking, resolving issues and ensuring completion by their deadlines.
* Escalating items that are unresolved or at risk; prioritizing analysis based on risks and demonstrating ability to work with incomplete information.
Basic Skills And Qualifications

* Must demonstrate considerable energy, focus, drive and a sense of urgency to drive forward projects.
* Experience as a Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst within the Financial Services industry (or equivalent, relevant experience such as consultancy / software house); strong understanding and experience of Technology Concepts and System Development Life Cycle fundamentals.
* Knowledge of and experience in implementing project governance best practices and creation of key project artefacts; experience using key project management tools.
* Experience and motivation to improve business process efficiency by leveraging technology; strong track record of leading and delivering complex programs with tight deadlines.; excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate key messages, escalate issues and drive consensus with senior management.
* Highly motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team and in a collaboration‑oriented environment.
Desirable Skills
* An understanding of the Investment Banking Business and financial concepts, products, services and regulations.
* An understanding and experience of the trade lifecycle and functional teams within an investment bank.
* An understanding of the project lifecycle & specifically the software development lifecycle.
* An ability to explain problems and represent solutions at the appropriate level of detail relative to the audience.
