We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to coordinate our research operations, providing guidance and oversight to a programme of ‘playtest sessions’ taking place weekly over the forthcoming four months.
What is a ‘playtest’?
By inviting members of the general public to play unreleased games in our purpose-built facilities in Brighton, we provide actionable feedback to the world’s biggest game developers. Player Research runs hundreds of these ‘playtest’ sessions per year — typically lasting 5-8 working days per.
About the Role
The Programme Coordinator will take ownership of a specific programme of playtests for one of our major partners, helping to ensure our weekly project milestones are met, and work as the primary point of contact for clients and external stakeholders to organise their success. They will ensure clear and consistent communication: organising meetings, documenting, and sustaining control over this programme of weekly playtesting sessions.
Player Research delivers world-class research projects with our small, agile teams. You’ll partner with staff and stakeholders to confidently oversee the routine processes of running successful playtests in this busy period.
About Us
At Player Research we want the world to experience brilliant games; ones full of adventure, surprise and intrigue – the ones you can’t put down, and those you talk about for days.
Across the world we partner with game development teams to realise their creative visions by providing meaningful insight into how real players experience play.
We are the world’s premier partner for games user research. From our hub studios we design and conduct award-winning user experience studies for video games globally: usability testing, expert reviews, engagement diaries, full playthroughs, training courses, accessibility testing… and so much more.
Do you fit the brief?
* You can demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, working with internal and external stakeholders
* You’re able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously: managing time and priorities in time-critical projects
* You’re at home in process maps, spreadsheets and organisational tools that help great projects proceed as-planned
* You’re comfortable taking ownership of critical tasks and responsibilities, and being accountable for outcomes
* You are decisive: being as proactive as possible, and reacting effectively to unexpected challenges with a cool head
* Comfortably client-facing, you’re a proactive communicator and maintain client satisfaction, speaking with the trusted voice of our business
* Ideally you would have an interest in video games, and a knowledge or experience of game/ software development processes
Core Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders commissioning research projects, liaising between stakeholders of varied disciplines, and our internal team executing the work
* Using our tools and processes, schedule and resource‑manage upcoming research sessions, and all their stakeholders
* Ensuring clear and consistent communication for a handful of simultaneous projects, in various stages of planning, execution, delivery and feedback
* Updating the plans, playbooks, and triaging to ensure our internal teams deliver on the playtest milestones, week‑to‑week without fail
* Organising and driving internal kick‑off and debrief meetings with both clients and internal teams to align key project deliverables
* Leading internal briefings to ensure all team members are fully informed about project goals, tasks, and timelines

* Support our on‑site teams to deliver a consistent experience to visitors, playtesters and staff
* Work with our capable AP and finance teams to ensure accurate billing and reporting
