An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Power Doors Mechatronics Engineer to join a leading organisation in the automotive sector. This role focuses on body systems, including glazing, sealing, exterior finishers and door mechanisms, supporting the full development lifecycle from concept through launch.
You will lead quality and engineering activities across glass systems, seals, finishers and power door components, ensuring robust design, manufacturability and performance. The role involves close collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Vehicle Engineering and Programme teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead quality strategy for glazing, sealing, and door systems.
* Define and implement APQP, FMEA, DV and PV plans.
* Conduct CAD reviews using CATIA V5/V6 and support interface definitions.
* Drive root-cause analysis using 8D, Evidence-Based Engineering and quality tools.
* Support supplier development, audits and component readiness.
* Oversee Design Verification (DV) and Production Verification (PV) activities.
Must-Have Skills:
* Experience in automotive body systems: glazing, sealing, doors, closures or exterior finishers.
* Strong knowledge of APQP, FMEA, DV/PV processes.
* Proficient with CATIA (V5 or V6) and requirements management tools such as DOORs.
* Understanding of global glass and sealing regulations.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
* JIRA or Agile experience.
* Exposure to manufacturing launch environments.
* Ability to influence design decisions and lead cross-functional reviews.
