Our client is a leading national construction business established for almost 20 years.
Job Title: Junior Buyer
The Junior Buyer will work within the Procurement team and assist with their day-to-day tasks, including:
1. Create and manage purchase, hire, and sub-contract orders
2. Liaise with Project Managers regarding items purchased and delivery dates
3. Maintain accurate records of all transactions
4. Ensure all suppliers are approved
5. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
6. Monitor spend against budgets
7. Respond to internal and external queries
8. Stock control
To be the ideal candidate, you must be confident using Outlook email and speaking on the phone. You should be physically fit to occasionally bring deliveries in and move stock in the yard. Attention to detail and basic maths skills are essential. Prior knowledge of building materials and an interest in the construction industry is desirable. The ability to prioritize and manage tasks is also key.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Starting salary ranges from £19,150 to £25,000, depending on experience.
