Operations Manager
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: Up to £40,000
Type: Permanent, Full time
Hours: Monday – Friday 35 hours per week
Imperial Recruitment Group are recruiting for an Operations Manager to join a high-quality warehousing and storage company.
We are seeking an Operations Manager to ensure all operational activities are delivered to exceptionally high standards and in line with established processes and procedures. The role will provide effective support and leadership to Operational Supervisors and assist in managing the wider operational team.
Main responsibilities and duties:
* Setting goals, objectives and allocating tasks to operational supervisors on a daily basis.
* Ensure customers’ expectations are met or exceeded by service levels provided.
* Embracing the Company quality culture and playing an active role in the delivery of this.
* Liaise with Managers to resolve issues and improve operational efficiencies.
* To be involved in any staffing issues from training and development, coaching and mentoring, performance management and probationary reviews and disciplinary procedures.
* Maintain a flexible approach to all working practices.
* Develop staff engagement, promoting a positive culture and effective staff input.
* To be proactive in problem solving and providing initiatives to the operation.
* Utilise the warehouse management system to increase efficiency in all operational areas – including processes & task management.
* Provide assistance with operational administration.
* Maintain stock accuracy.
* Contract management, including associated meetings.
* Promote and ensure good housekeeping and working practices.
* To play an active role in all H&S activities within the operation on a daily basis, ensuring the company remains compliant with legislation and putting improvements in place.
* Maintain daily inspections and ensure regulatory testing of all MHE equipment.
* Ensure the shelving and racking is fit for purpose and conduct regular inspections.
* Managing Staff Rota’s.
* Management reports.
* Identify and report to the Directors any issues that may adversely affect. the smooth running of the operation.
* To carry out project tasks reasonably requested by the Directors.
* Ensure work rates and performance are continuously monitored.

Qualifications:
Suitable Supervisory Qualification.
Warehousing/storage Qualification.
IOSH desired but not essential.
Valid licenses to use Forklift Truck, not essential.
Experience:
Previous experience of leading a team within a storage/warehousing environment, for a minimum of 2 years.
Previous experience in using a Warehouse Management System at group and contract level.
